Preparing for Interface
Amadeus must be set up to interface to Tres. Agencies that are already interfacing into Trams Back Office (TBO) have these settings in place.
If your agency isn’t currently interfacing with TBO, contact the Amadeus support desk to ensure the following steps have been completed.
- Amadeus print manager (SAPE) is configured to create individual interface files.
- Verify the path of the AIR folder (i.e C:\Air). This information is necessary to update the download ‘PNR File Path’ in the Tres GDS Upload utility.
- Amadeus Interface level 206 has been assigned. (AIR version 206) VSN206
- Create an automatic invoice number assignment for each sale.
- The Amadeus Agency profile has the following options turned on or set to Yes for Interface:
- Voids ECM = Y
- The RM Accounting remarks
- Automated MCO (B13 = Y)
- BTZ (Set to Yes to Interface Itinerary Updates)
- Refunds RFD = YES
- DGEN is not enabled unless the agency has a 3rd party invoice program that need it (I.E. Compleat)
Once the Amadeus configuration is completed, you will need to install and set up the GDS Upload Utility. GDS Upload Utility is an application that runs in the background on your computer and sends the interface records to the Tres server for processing. We highly recommend installing GDS Upload Utility on the same computer on which the Amadeus print manager (SAPE) is installed.
Amadeus Printing Module (SAPE)
Amadeus uses the printing module, SAPE, to control devices such as ticket printers, invoice printers, hardcopy printers, and interface records. The Amadeus support desk can help you configure the SAPE for your agency.
Amadeus Interface Control
BB: Check the status of the interface queue
This entry displays the current interface transmission status. Amadeus will respond with a status of Start or Stopped.
BASTART: Start transmission of pending messages
This entry will begin the transmission of all pending AIR records from the interface queue to Tres. This entry must be made to initialize interface. The entry is only required to initialize the transmission for the first time.
BASTOP: Stop transmission of pending messages
This entry stops the transmission of records from the interface queue to Tres. We recommend stopping the automated transmission immediate after issuing the BASTART command. Records can be selectively transmitted while in the STOP mode using more specific entries.
BD: Display the number of messages in the queue
This entry displays the number of records that have been generated and stored by the system, sorted by record sequence. The list can be narrowed down by including the date after the BD format, for example, BD22SEP. There are two symbols that may be displayed before the sequence number:
- An asterisk (*) indicates the AIR record has been transmitted.
- A dash (-) indicates the AIR record is incomplete due to a missing ticket or invoice number.
The letter “V” at the end of the sequence number indicates that AIR was voided.
BA: Selective transmission of AIR records
This entry allows users to transmit specific AIR records:
| Send all records for a specific date | BA{date} | BA22SEP |
| Send a sequence of records | BA{starting number}-{ending number} | BA020021-020035 |
| By ARC/BSP number | BA{ARC/BSP number} | BA23999990 |
While in STOP mode, only the specified records are transmitted. All other records remain on the interface queue.
BR: Retransmission of AIR records
This entry allowed users to re-transmit specific AIR records:
| Re-send all records for a specific date | BR{date} | BR22SEP |
| Re-send a sequence of records | BR{starting number}-{ending number} | BR020021-020035 |
| Re-send by ARC/BSP number | BR{ARC/BSP number} | BR23999990 |
