Hotel and car bookings and flight segment information in existing Trams invoices can be updated through GDS interface.
To process itinerary updates, the remark 5.S*HU must exist in the PNR before generating an itinerary. Trams ignores itineraries that do not include the HU remark. Once the HU remark is in the PNR, generate an itinerary using the DIT command.

Information Updated Using Itinerary Updates
During interface, Trams looks for invoices matching the itinerary PNR record locator. When it finds a match, it updates the following:
- Hotel and car reservations:
- Any existing hotel and car reservations are voided.
- Hotel and car reservations in the itinerary are added to the most recent invoice with the PNR record locator.
- Existing car and hotel reservations with a start date prior to itinerary date are ignored. This retains any past date reservations active in Trams, even if they’ve fallen out of the itinerary. Past date reservations remain in the original invoice.
- Flight schedules
- Trams updates flight schedules on all bookings related to the PNR record locator.
- Only matching flight segments based on departure city are updated. New segments are not added, and existing cities are not changed.
- Updated information includes departure and arrival dates and times, and flight numbers.
- UDIDs on hotel and car reservations
- UDIDs can be added and updated to car and hotel reservations only.
- New UDIDs are added using the UD descriptor.
- Existing UDIDs are updated by including both the UD and UU (UDID update) descriptors.
Updating UDIDs
UDID information can be updated on existing hotel and car reservations.
Adding a new UDID:
- Add the UDID using the 5.S*UD(UDID#) (data) format.
- Generate an itinerary using the command DIT.
Update existing UDIDs:
- Update existing UDID remarks.
- Add new UDID information using the format 5.S*UU(UDID#) (data).
- Generate an itinerary using the DIT command.
You cannot add new UDIDs and update existing UDIDs in the same itinerary. If you need to do both, first add the new UDIDs and generate an itinerary. Then enter the UU formats for the UDIDs that need to be updated and generate a second itinerary.
