This article reviews how to export a query to open it in Excel to manipulate the data. You can export level 1, level 2 or level 3 queries in the Profile, Res Card, Activities and Inventory Managers.
- Run the query.
- From the Menu bar, select Merge To > File.
- Select the box with the three dots at the end of the File Name field.
- Choose a location on your computer you want to save the file.
- In the File Name box, enter a file name but add .csv at the end of the file name. The default will be .txt but replace that with .csv.
- Select Save.
- You do not need to edit the other defaulted options unless you selected specific items to export.
- For example, you ran a query and out of the 50 display items, you chose 25. If that is the case, you would want to choose "Selected Results in Profile Manager".
- Select Export.
- An information box will be displayed letting you know how many items were exported and the path to where they were saved. Select OK.
- Go to where you saved the file and open it. Even though the file was saved as .csv, it will automatically open in Excel.
- Go to File > Save As to save the file as .xsls.
