The purpose of this table is to manage airline flight classes and their descriptions. This allows CCTE to cater for those booking classes where airline booking classes differ. For example, one airline may list P class as economy where another has it loaded for Premium Economy.
By updating this table, the CCTE itinerary should then pull the correct booing class information for the applicable airlines.
To access this table, go to Tools/Tables/Flight Class Codes.
By default, the Flight Class Code table sorts by the description column with additional sorting on any of the table column headers however, you can search by Code, Description and/or Supplier Id.
A flight class code may have multiple rows, for the same Supplier or different Suppliers.
Flight Class Codes cannot be deleted once referenced (used) in the database
The Date Last Updated column is system generated at the time an amendment is made. Codes can be made inactive when changes are made by airlines. Updates or additions are a manual process.
A new code, associated Supplier and Description can be manually added to the table if necessary by authorised users. Manager logins can automatically access and update this table. Other consultant types must be updated within the Supervisor login of CCTE under the Security screen, General/Trip/MyCCT radio buttons in the Options and Tables Menu Name dropdown.
Warning Prompt
A warning prompt will be displayed where a segment created by download or that existed prior to the system upgrade has not been able to identify the correct class description. This can be controlled in security and can be deactivated.
Generic data
If a supplier is not specifically listed against a class code, this is usually because the carrier uses the most common description for that class (e.g. Y = Economy). In these cases, the table will use the generic carrier $$ code description for that class to populate a segment.
There is also a generic class code of $$ used if the class code itself cannot be located in the tables. These generic codes should not be deleted.
Deleting a Booking Class Code
Only booking classes which have not been used may be deleted. A booking class that has already been used in CCTE can also not be deleted and a warning prompt will pop up as a reminder.
A warning message will also appear if attempting to delete a generic supplier or class code or both from the Flight Class Codes table advising that the generic supplier cannot be deleted
