What Data Can Be Imported into Trams Database?
This document outlines what data can be brought in via the Profile Import into a Trams Database.
Customer Checklist:
- Customer needs to review carefully what can and cannot be brought in via import (see below).
- Verify your customer list is complete.
- Customer is responsible for editing the .txt file before handing off for import.
- The Excel spreadsheet needs headers.
- First Name/Last Name/Address/City/State/Zip need to be in different columns.
- Special Dates (Birthdays are excluded from this import area) need to be consistently formatted.
- Credit card data cannot be imported into database to conform to PCI Compliance standards.
- Birthdays and Frequent Flyer cards can only be imported into a Remarks field then manually moved.
- Groups can be imported as a mapped column or a constant.
- Marketing Codes can be imported in several formats.
- Client approves via email the .txt file being imported into ClientBase.
User has created a tab-delimited .txt file for import from another program. Fields user can import.

- Remarks – we can put data that does not have a home into this area, but the columns in the data files with excessive text or hidden characters will stop the import. Exception: Credit Card numbers are not able to be imported based on PCI Compliance Regulations. Data placed in this area must be copied/pasted into other areas of the program.
