It’s important to keep your TRAMS Interface Download application (Download.exe) updated. The Download.exe application is separate from the main Trams Back Office (TBO) application.
The GDS often update the format in which they send interface data, and you must use the latest Download.exe to ensure that TBO is able to process the interface correctly.
Having the latest version of Download.exe resolves many issues that customers encounter during interface.
Recent examples of errors that users may encounter by using and outdated Download.exe include:
- Records with NDC bookings appear corrupt.
- Hotel bookings interface with incorrect fare information.
- Name fields lack the “/” character.
Updating Download.exe is a very quick process. Whenever an updated version of Download.exe is released, users are prompted to update when they attempt to perform an interface download. When prompted, simply click the option to install the upgrade.
Download.exe is installed on each TBO workstation, so each workstation that is used to download interface records must be kept up to date.
Checking current Download.exe version
The easiest way to find out what version of Download.exe you are running is by clicking in Interface > Download. The version is shown at the bottom, left corner of the Download window.
Not being prompted to download updates
If you are not getting the prompt to update Download.exe, it is likely a Windows permission issue or related to anti-virus software on your computer. Make sure that the Windows user has full access permissions on the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Trams and that your anti-virus software is not blocking the upgrade.
Running interface download as a scheduled task
Some agencies have the interface download setup to run as a scheduled task. Since the scheduled task runs in the background, there is no prompt to update automatically.
