The Trams interface process includes two steps:
- Downloading your GDS interface records
- Processing the downloaded records into Trams Back Office (TBO)
When the GDS generates a ticket (including all the additional information in the PNR), an image of that sale is created in the form of a text file.
The GDS stores the file/s in their database, until the agency requests the files to be released (via front room formats) into the interface folder.
If your GDS has not released the files to the interface folder, there will be nothing for TBO to process.
How to find your interface files
If TBO does not find any interface records after clicking on Interface > Download, copy your PNR File Path:
Paste into Windows Explore and hit enter. If the folder shows ‘This folder is empty’ the GDS print manager has not released the files.
Your specific PNR File Path may vary due to your agency’s network configuration, however the default path for each GDS on the print manager workstation is shown below:
GDS | Print Manager Name | Default Path |
Amadeus | SAPE | C:\AIR |
Apollo or Galileo/Travelport+ | GPM | C:\MIR |
Sabre | SJPM | C:\sabre\apps\output |
Worldspan | HPM | C:\wspan\hpm\output |
If the interface folder is empty:
And you have already tried all the standard GDS formats to release the interface files, next try restarting the print manager. This sometimes will release the files. After that, you will have to contact your GDS support desk for further assistance. Remember to check the interface folder to confirm the files are there, before you let them go.
Often, when contacting the GDS desk requesting help with interface, Trams is mentioned. This is when they advise to call us back. It’s best to leave Trams or TBO out of the conversation and instead explain ‘the trouble is related to the print manager device’.
