Q: Even after I’ve downloaded interface records from my GDS, they continue to come through during subsequent downloads.
A: For the interface Download process to work as expected, the person running Interface > Download must be logged into Windows as a user with Full (Read/Write/Delete) Rights on the interface file folder. The interface folder may vary, but it’s the one shown in the PNR File Path in the TRAMS Download window.
How to resolve
Grant Delete permissions on interface folder
The following steps explain how to grant "delete" permissions on the interface folder. These steps must be made on the computer where the interface file is located:
- Click on the Windows Start button.
- Type to search for the File Explorer app.
- On the left side of the File Explorer window, navigate to your interface file folder.
- Right click on the interface file folder, then select Properties.
- On the General tab, make sure the checkbox next to Read-only (applies to files in folder) is cleared (unchecked), then click Apply.
- If prompted, select the option Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files, then click OK.
- If you will only be downloading interface records on this computer, click OK. If other computers on your network will also be used to download interface files, continue to the next section.
Additional steps for networked computers
If your interface folder will be shared across your network, continue with the following steps. We highly recommend working with your IT administrator to setup your network sharing.
- Click on the Sharing tab.
- Click Share.
- At the Choose people to share with line, type "everyone" and click Add.
- In the list of users with access to the folder, highlight Everyone and select the option Read/Write.
- Click Share.
- In the section labeled Password Protection, click the link Network and Sharing Center.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and look for Password protected sharing.
- Select the option Turn off password protected sharing.
- Click Save changes.
