Many areas of Tres can be exported from and imported into a Tres database. These files can come from your test database, from another agency or from the attached files.

Action Plans
Export:
- Navigate to Settings > Action Plans.
- Select individual Action Plans or check the box at the top to select all Action Plans.
- Click Export.
- A .json file will export to your downloads folder on your computer.
Import:
- Navigate to Settings > Action Plans.
- Select Import.
- Navigate to where the file is stored on your computer.
- Select Open.
- Once imported, a confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen.
- Import rules based on User types and permissions:
- Admins and Managers - all Action Plans import as public.
- Basic Users - all Action Plans import as private.
Destinations including Tags and Images
Export:
- Navigate to Settings > Destinations.
- Select Search.
- Select individual Destinations or check the box at the top to select all Destinations.
- Click Export.
- A .json file will export to your downloads folder on your computer.
Import:
- Navigate to Settings > Destinations.
- Select Import.
- Navigate to where the file is stored on your computer.
- Select Open.
- Once imported, a confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen.
Note: If the database already has a Destination and images with the same name as an imported Destination, an error message will be displayed. Destination Tags will only import successfully if the Tag Name and Values have already been entered into Tres.
Tags
Export:
- Navigate to Settings > Tags.
- Select Search.
- Select individual Tags or check the box at the top to select all Tags.
- Click Export.
- A .json file will export to your downloads folder on your computer.
Import:
- Navigate to Settings > Tags.
- Select Import.
- Navigate to where the file is stored on your computer.
- Select Open.
- Once imported, a confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen.
**Note: If the database already has a Tag with the same name as an imported Tag, a error message will be thrown.
Email Templates
Export:
- Navigate to Settings > Email Templates.
- Select Search.
- Select individual templates or check the box at the top to select all templates.
- Click Export.
- A .json file will export to your downloads folder on your computer.
Import:
- Navigate to Settings > Email Templates.
- Select Import.
- Navigate to where the file is stored on your computer.
- Select Open.
- Once imported, a confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen.
Notes on Imports:
- Attachments are not being imported at this time.
- The import is not case sensitive. Example: A template named "Maui Checklist" will import even if there is already a template named "MAUI CHECKLIST" in the program.
- Import rules based on User types and permissions:
- Admins and Managers - all Email Templates import as public.
- Basic Users - all Email Templates import as private.
Trip, Client, and Traveler Views
Export:
- Navigate to the Trips, Client, or Traveler search screen.
- Select Manage Views and click Export Views from the dropdown menu.
- Select individual views or check the box at the top to select all views.
- Click Export.
- A .json file will export to your downloads folder on your computer.
Import:
- Navigate to the Trips, Client, or Traveler search screen.
- Select Manage Views and click Import Views from the dropdown menu.
- Select the file to import.
Notes on Imports:
- Visibility of Import and Export options:
- Admins will see both Import and Export.
- Managers and basic Users will see Export when the Export permission is checked off for Trips, Client, or Traveler in their User Profile.
- Managers and basic Users will see Import when either the Insert or Import permissions are checked off for Trips, Client, or Traveler in their User Profile.
- Import rules based on User types and permissions:
- Admins and Managers - all Views import as public.
- Basic Users - all Views import as private.
General Ledger Accounts
Export:
- Navigate to General Ledger > GL Accounts.
- Run a search to display the desired GL Accounts.
- Click Export.
- A .json file will export to your downloads folder on your computer.
Import:
- Navigate to the General Ledger > GL Accounts.
- Click Import.
- Select the file to import.
Notes:
- Only Admins have the ability to export or import.
